Pristine Wilderness Tours is operated by Ed Hopkins and Michelle Phillips. Racing and training sleddogs is our passion. With our 8-year-old son Keegan, we maintain a 50 dog kennel, along with 2 cats, a golden retriever and some fish. We live in Tagish, Yukon Territories, where we and our dogs can run wild. Our days are spent with our dogs.

Ed Hopkins has been running dogs for 22 years. He began his mushing career in 1986 handling dogs for Harry Sutherland. After a few years of running his own team, Ed handled dogs for Susan Butcher for two seasons and ran her yearlings in the Yukon Quest in both 1993 and 1994. In all, Ed has run the Quest five times and has won the prestigious Yukon Quest Sportsmanship Award.     A well know musher, Ed has raced the Percy DeWolfe twelve times, winning it in 1999 and 2007. Ed has won the Caledonia Classic 200 and Caledonia Classic 150 race and currently holds the track record for the Caledonia Classic 150. He has also won and holds the track record for the 100 mile Silver Sled race.     In addition to his strong race background, Ed has been awarded: the Percy DeWolfe Sportsmanship Award (three times), the Humane Society Award and the Vet's Choice Award.

Michelle Phillips has been running dogs for 10 years. Her race history includes competing in the Percy DeWolfe, the Kobuk 440, the Klondike 300, the Cantwell Classic, the Gin Gin and the Copper Basin. Michelle has completed one of the world's toughest races, the Yukon Quest, four times. Accomplishments, in addition to an impressive fourth place finish in the Quest, include "Rookie of the Year" in both the Percy DeWolfe and the Copper Basin races.
