Spend a day on the runners behind your own team of racing huskies! Learn about running and caring for your team of Alaskan huskies from Ed or Michelle, both veteran sled dog racers. On our dog page you can briefly meet some of your possible partners for this adventure.

    Our mushing camp starts with us getting you prepared in warm winter gear. Then you'll learn the basics of mushing and spend a short time being pulled behind a snowmobile to get the feel of the sled before you're hooked up with your own sled dog team.

    A small team is then hooked up for you (you're welcome to help!), and you're off to feel the thrill and beauty of running with dog power. Ed or Michelle will be your guide as you spend the afternoon enjoying the Southern Lakes scenery. There's lots of wildlife in the area, and travelling by nearly silent dog sled greatly increases the chances of glimpsing a caribou or wolf along the trails. The whisper of the sled runners on the snow is a sound you'll long remember when you're looking back on this experience.

    A hearty homemade lunch will be supplied and enjoyed by a campfire. Sip on a hot chocolate and warm up for your run home.
